About

A kitchen you could walk to, doing what it does best.

Suppa started in Plymouth with a simple problem: good food takes time most people don't have, and most of what claims to save that time either isn't cooked properly or isn't affordable to eat every day.

How it started

The ovens are warm at three in the afternoon. The dining room is empty.

Picture a nurse off a late shift. Nothing ready at home, an hour of cooking she does not have, and the healthiest thing nearby costs as much as a sit-down meal. Takeaways are quick but cost too much to lean on. Meal kits still leave you the cooking. Frozen trays shipped from a factory are nobody’s idea of a proper meal.

Meanwhile, every restaurant in Plymouth has a kitchen that sits quiet between lunch and evening service. Trained cooks, ovens already hot, a pass with nothing on it. That gap is what Suppa is built on.

The partner model

Local restaurants cook. We plan, deliver and pay per plate.

We work with a restaurant partner in Plymouth that cooks a fixed menu in its off-peak hours. We publish the menu ahead of time, collect everyone’s picks, send the kitchen one batch spec at the cutoff, and run the van on a route planned once every order is locked.

The kitchen is paid a wholesale rate for every meal it hands to the driver, settled weekly, and part of that payment is tied to how you rate the food. Nobody is asked to buy ingredients on a hunch or cook one order at a time. That is the whole saving, and it goes to you.

Why it costs what it costs

5 restaurant meals for £40 a week.

A takeaway pays for food bought in just in case, chefs on standby, one order cooked at a time and a driver per order. We know every meal before it is cooked, cook it all together in a kitchen that is otherwise idle, and deliver on one round. Next to nothing is wasted.

What we're here to do

Make eating well every day easy and affordable.

Turn the spare hours in local restaurant kitchens into properly cooked, ready-to-eat meals, portioned to the person eating them, and deliver them cheaply and reliably to every household that wants them.

We are starting with one partner kitchen in Plymouth and keeping quality tight before we grow. Each city has to pay its own way before the next one opens: no outside money, no growth for its own sake. That discipline is what lets us promise the same thing every week: cooked today, delivered today.

What we are not

Not a meal-kit company. Not a macro-tracking app.

We are closer to a restaurant that happens to deliver, run by people who think a good weeknight meal should not mean a shipped box or a trip to the gym cafe. You set your plate once, we cook to it, and we tell you plainly when something has to change.
